The NEU stated 95 per cent of members in England voiced their support for fresh walkouts starting in September, on a turnout of fifty three per cent – simply over the minimal threshold of fifty per cent required for strike motion. It comes despite each the NEU and the NAHT also saying on Monday that lecturers voted overwhelmingly in favour of additional strike action in separate re-ballots. It means a fresh wave of instructor strikes by all 4 major instructing unions earmarked for the autumn time period would not go forward.
